Syracuse University will finish in the top 40 in the NACDA Directors' Cup for the first time in school history after the final standings are compiled later this month, representing the best showing in school history. All-American track & field performers Lauren Penney and Donald Pollitt put the exclamation point on an historic year for Syracuse University Athletics by finishing in the top eight in their respective events at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships to boost Syracuse's NACDA Director's Cup scoring to a school-record 555 points. A program best 10 teams represented Syracuse in the post-season, including four Final Four teams. The NACDA Directors' Cup recognizes collegiate athletics programs that maintain a broad-based program achieving success in many sports.
